Meir Statman: How Much Wealth is Needed for a Happy Life?

Meir Statman is the Glenn Klimek Professor of Finance at Santa Clara University. In this interview, which I conducted on behalf of the Australia-based Portfolio Construction Forum, he discusses his latest book, A Wealth of Well-Being. Statman explains relationship between financial and life well-being, and the factors that lead to a happy life. He discusses the research on whether people get greater happiness (or “utility”) from experiences or from goods and material objects, and how much wealth is necessary for a happy life.
